Before you become a User

  1. Making a decision
    1. What is pay-per-click keyword advertising?

A Pay Per Click (also known as Pay Per Ranking, Pay Per Placement or Pay Per Position) search engine enables you to list your site at the top of the search engine results. You pay only when a searcher or clicker (I use these terms interchangeably) clicks on your listing and connects to your site. You don’t pay to list, you only pay for clicks or click-throughs.

You advertise and drive traffic to your website by selecting keywords that refer to your product or service. PPC search engines allow the market to determine how much you will pay for each keyword. For each keyword, you determine how much you are willing to spend. The higher you bid the higher you will appear in the search results.

Popular keywords with many bidders means higher pay-per-click rate per position you want. For example, you may wish to bid $.24 for the word "lavender" to appear as the first choice searchers see when they search for the term "lavender". If a competitor of yours chooses to bid $.35 for that top position, your competitor will get the #1 position, and you will be moved to #2. Smedia PPC+ provides tools to help you prevent this and for managing thousands of keywords.

Using pay-per-click keyword advertising with a PPC search engine is a great way to drive targeted traffic to your site because you only pay for actual clicks to your site. It is risk free and a cheaper alternative to listing with the bigger search engines.

We count the total number of unique search terms you have across all of the search engine accounts you register with us. top

    5. What happens if my competition is also using Smedia PPC+ or a similar service?

An automated bidding war could take place just like it does when manually monitoring and adjusting bids. The only resolution to this is to let the market determine the "right" price. Whether manually or automatically doing so, a bidding level will be reached that no one is willing to exceed. Then, there will be opportunities at the other positions that give a great return for the your investment.
